While we have taken every effort to provide the best of comforts, behind every comfort there is a dedicated effort to eliminate or reduce the impact to the environment.
The resort has its own natural water harvesting pond. Additionally, two more wells have been added to the property through an activity initiated by the resort staff itself. No water is sourced from outside our premises.
Water to the flush tanks is channelled through gravity water flow which helps avoid the use of an electric motor pump. This helps save almost 3 units of power per day, amounting to 1095 units in a year. We make it a point to use only energy-efficient bulbs (Compact Fluorescent Lamps) at our properties.
We also encourage our patrons to re-use their linen if and when possible to help conserve energy.
So far, out guests have only appreciated these efforts.
Xandari Resorts is constantly redesigning what it means to be truly sustainable in operations. At Thekkady, we have the first of its kind electric vehicle charging station installed within the premises for our future forward guests who can recharge their cars while on holiday. This convenient, hassle-free service supports and enables the use of electric cars in sensitive ecosystems.
