The Xandari Pearl is only two years old. Obviously that means some of the plants in the gardens could be bigger but that is being picky! 20 separate Chalets - we were in the standard chalet which still has own private garden with hammock etc - plus an outside private shower. The rooms really are well thought out - my husband is a designer and he was very impressed! We were here for six nights at the end of a trip round Kerala and loved every minute. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. There is complimentary tea and nibbles at the restaurant by the pool at 4 every afternoon - how wonderfully decadent! There is also a spa which we were going to give a miss because we had had a massage elsewhere on our trip - but a complimentary head and shoulder massage hinted at something much better! My husband and I went for the full western body massage and didn't regret it I had Sunil Roy and came out floating on air. Can thoroughly recommend ! The hotel is next to the beach and it is worth walking down there at 6:15 every night to watch the magic sunsets! And while you are waiting you can watch the crabs pop out of their sand holes and dodge the crabs! A lovely hotel I cannot recommend enough - we are already working out when we can come back!
We stayed one night during an Indian cycling trip at this classy new hotel. The rooms are separate buildings (a la bungalows/bures) set throughout the grounds with a central restaurant, pool and bar area a short walk away. The also separate reception and entrance are a slightly longer walk and the beach is just past the restaurant/bar and pool.
Speaking of bar once again we encountered the Kerala State government's heavy hand with the bar no longer selling alcohol. If you want a drink, bring your own.
The rooms were spotless, luxurious, bright and new with an inside/outside bathroom and all-important air conditioning. The weather sure was hot when we were there! Staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly.
Food in the restaurant was good and tasty and I enjoyed a cricket discussion with our waiter Kevin.
We had two experiences at Xandari hotels, both were excellent.
Hotel's location is fantastic. It has direct access to the beach. The ambiance of the shared areas and the decoration of the room were perfect. It is very relaxing! We stayed during the new year celebrations, and the open buffet food served was delicious!! Everything starting from a warm welcoming until our check-out was above our expectation. So happy of choosing Xandari Pearl, it couldn't be better. Definitely recommended!
wish we could have stayed longer! We stayed in a Blue Pearl room with private plunge pool - very romantic. Room was spacious and had a lovely outdoor bathroom. Main swimming pool was a good size and not crowded. Very close to a beautiful beach - great sunset views. Enjoyed complimentary yoga class in the morning and free afternoon tea and snacks by the pool. Excellent breakfast. Good selection of games at the restaurant. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good massage at the spa.
